Gondwana rubs Shoulders with Elephants - 15.01.08
Gondwana now also offers accommodation on the doorstep of Etosha National Park in northern Namibia. Etosha Safari Camp became part of the group on 1 January. Situated about 10 km south of Andersson Gate on the road between Outjo and Okaukuejo, it is an ideal starting point for exciting safari excursions to the elephants, lions and other animals of Etosha. The camp consists of 27 chalets with canvas walls, a restaurant and bar as well as a camping site.

Etosha Safari Camp lies in the shade of Mopane trees.
In the coming weeks the restaurant will be extended, another 20 chalets will be built and the camping site will be upgraded. Gondwana will also install a water recycling plant for watering the lawns and plants in the camp grounds. Two kilometres away, on a hill with grand views, Etosha Safari Lodge will be built. The lodge will consist of 55 double rooms, a restaurant, bar and swimming pool. The first guests are expected on 1 November.
Spending a night at Etosha Safari Camp is excellent value for money: the rate, including breakfast, is N$ 440 per person sharing a double room during peak season (1 July to 31 October 2008), N$ 360 during low season (1 March to 30 June 2008) and N$ 290 off-season. Dinner costs N$ 100. Campers pay N$ 50 per person per night.
