Exquisite Cooking in the Kalahari - 16.05.05
At this year’s contest of Namibian chefs 17 candidates in the junior category qualified for the finals. Gert Beukes took an excellent fourth place in the final competition. The annual contest is arranged by the Namibian Chefs Association (NCA) as part of the Namibia Holiday & Travel Expo in Windhoek. The jury consists of renowned chefs from Namibia and South Africa. Prizes were awarded on Saturday at the gala evening of the Hospitality Association of Namibia (HAN).

2005 he became chef at Kalahari Anib Lodge. Among his specialities are game dishes and his by now almost legendary Kalahari Tomato Soup.
