Canyon und Namib as close as can be - 29.01.07
Passionate riders will be totally taken with the new horseback excursion offered by ReitSafari Horse Trails. Covering more than 300 km, the nine-day tour starts at the upper Fish River Canyon, some 40 km north of the main lookout point, and ends at the Gariep/Orange River. The contrasting scenery in itself is fascinating enough: after three days in the canyon’s system of gorges three days are spent on sweeping plains abundant with game, while the last three days are characterised by barren plains until the lush green banks of the Gariep/Orange River are reached. This tour is seen as a major challenge for experienced riders.

Seasoned hikers can join tours of 4 to 5 days in the upper canyon area, some 40 km north of the main lookout point.
Participants enjoy their natural surroundings unencumbered because mules carry all the luggage and equipment.

Our guests can now explore the world’s oldest desert on hiking trips in Gondwana Namib Park north of Sossusvlei. Several trails have been laid out which take hikers across the fossilized dunes of the protomorphic Namib right into the sand sea of the ‘younger’ desert.
